Banana Republic Leather Jacket + Old Navy Striped Skirt

I inherited my undying love for bread from my maternal grandfather. He was a baker. I’ve never known a bakery I didn’t want to get in. Undying love for bread is a family thing. We could never go on Atkins.
I never met my paternal grandfather, but I know I inherited his artistic ability and aesthetic sense . He was a self-taught designer and I so wish I could have met him. The mosaic picture on the wall of this photograph was done by him.
Another thing I inherited from him? His “good coat rule”. My dad says he didn’t have a lot of money, but he would always buy the very best coat his money could afford and he would wear the coat forever.

I bought this jacket off eBay a million years ago and even though it was a bit of a splurge then, I bring it back out of my closet, year after year. And it always makes my very rigorous decluttering cuts. Grandpa was right, a good coat will last you forever.
As you may have read yesterday, I am obsessed over leather this Spring. Especially leather jackets with pretty flowy dresses. So this baby still has lots of wear time this Spring. (check out my Spring Leather board)
Clearly the weather hasn’t turned very warm in my parts of the world yet… Here‘s a more warm weather friendly way I wore this skirt.
So what is a trait you know you’ve inherited from your grandparents? I’d love to hear it in the comments!
I spent the first twenty years of my life with 20/20 vision. Until I went to the DMV to get my driver’s license (the minimal driving age in Brazil is 18) and found out I needed vision correction. I never felt like contacts or glasses were really part of my identity, you know? So last year I finally got Lasik surgery and even though I didn’t get my 20/20 vision back, I can see just fine with no glasses.
When Firmoo contacted me about getting glasses to review, I jumped at the opportunity of just getting some fun glasses to play in, you know? You see, after not wearing glasses for almost a year, I kind of missed the cute element of style they give. Plus, I was looking forward to seeing this:
The glasses are sturdy and a good fit. The website is fairly easy to navigate and you can even use a little tool where you upload a picture and you can try it the glasses. It got here within a reasonable time frame, about a week after I ordered them. If you are in need of glasses, they have a neat program where you get your first pair for free, you only have to pay for shipping.
*Yes, Firmoo sent me a free pair of glasses, but all the opinions about these glasses are my own. Including the cute kid.
