on my nightstand – I barely finished “Cutting for Stone”, it was a bit slow-paced for me. But it was a great story. This summer I have several (varied) readings going at the same time including The Magician’s Nephew – I’m rereading this one, I read it in Portuguese the first time around, Thin Within and The Ministry of Motherhood. I’m still looking for that fun, light summer fiction though!
in my bible – Matthew 7:24-26 — words to live by!
on my tv – The husband and I started watching White Collar, we had never heard of it but we are loving it! Also, is anyone else watching Bunheads? Y’all know about my Gilmore Girls obsession and Bunheads is written by the same writer. I just love her writing and the worlds she creates. I hope Bunheads doesn’t get cancelled!
in my ears – thanks to my SIL, lover of all things vintage, I am listening to the The Proclaimers Pandora station non-stop. Seriously, go do listen to it. I highly recommend it. And a little bit of Tom Waits too. 🙂
in my closet – I hope to show you my new dress on a WIWW post soon. I played personal shopper for a friend a couple of weeks ago and before we went I told myself I wasn’t there to shop, I was there to shop for my friend. Alas, this dress was just perfect and very reasonably priced. I couldn’t resist. I am on a shopping hiatus until we go back to the US in October though. Saving all my rich little money to go paint the town red. And by that I mean, go spend it all at Target. 😉
on my iPad – Boy have I found some good apps this month. Probably very late in the game, but what I can do? I live in Turkey, news don’t always travel so fast. 😉
First one up? Mint.com – all I have is compliments for this app. No more punching in receipts. It’s easy to use and so use to track your money. Love it and I couldn’t recommend it more!!!
2nd app of the month? abcfamily – Yes, I had used the abc app and loved it, but when I found out I could watch Bunheads on my iPad, my day just got a little brighter. 🙂 Recently my old laptop went kaput so if the husband isn’t home, the only way I can watch anything is on my iPad. It’s so nice to have a variety of shows to watch! p.s.: I don’t watch that much TV, I just like to have it on as white noise while doing housework or crafting.
And for the kiddo -monkey preschool lunch box. O learned how to play matching games by playing with this app. I love it and so does he!
So what are you into this month?

Should I start this post with a slew of excuses for being absent the whole month of March? I’ll spare you the excuses, mainly because I have no idea what happened. Life happened I guess. But hey, that means I was out on the real world, living life to the fullest and that’s always a good excuse. I do hope to get back into regular schedule posting. So today I’ll give you what I’m into this month of April:
on my nightstand – I finally go connected with my local library in America, so I am now able to borrow books on my Kindle app. You have no idea how happy this makes me! *nerd alert* . Last month I read “Nineteen Eighty-Four” by George Orwell. An oldie but oh so goodie. And a bit somber. I also read “The Peach Keeper” by Addison Allen. Nothing life-changing but a good little fiction. I am currently reading “Unbroken” by Lauren Hillenbrand. An awesome story that has inspired me to start running again! And last but not least, I’m in the beginings of “The Ministry of Motherhood” by Sally Clarkson. I’ll write more about it once I’m finished but I can already tell you it is some good stuff!
in my bible – Going through Genesis again. Joseph is my favorite.
on my tv – Two words: Downton Abby. Do yourself a favor, believe all the hype and watch this show. You will not regret it.
in my ears – I haven’t really listened to anything new lately. Just my trusty Pandora stations.
in my closet – I was in
desperate need of a new bright colored cardigan and some spring black pants. My favorite store in Turkey did not disappoint. I didn’t have time to take pictures of it with my husband’s camera, so I “stole” a coupon pictures from the online store.
on my ipad – Paper by 53. If you like to sketch, you will be in digital paper heaven.

on my nightstand – I know I’m late in the game, but I have finally started reading Organized Simplicity . It was free on kindle the other day, so how could I pass it up? I’m enjoying it so far, but I’m desperately seeking some good fiction. I haven’t gotten a reading list ready for the year yet. Any fun fiction suggestions?!?
in my bible – Going through Joshua this month.Love.
on my tv – the husband and I have started on several new shows this month, looking for one that will stick. So far I am loving Person of Interest. You can go wrong with Jim Caviezel and
Ben from Lost Michael Emerson.
in my ears – Fun. I love their vintage sound, I love their cool boy, hipster style. LOVE the beat of “We are Young”. It had been a long while since I had listened to a song on constant repeat. The lyrics aren’t necessary wholesome, but I’m a sucker for a good beat. Also love “All the Pretty Girls”.
in my closet- while mama was here, I got my shopping partner back and we painted the town red. I mean, we looked for the red sale signs that were everywhere. Here are a few of my favorites:
on my iPad – well, I am semi-obsessed with Pinterest’s app. It’s very user-friendly, you can browse and repin all you want except you can’t pin anything new. But all in all it is a great little app.

Ever heard of Sierra Trading Post? A friend of mine had talked about finding some really good deals on tennis shoes on there and how they came super fast, straight to her door ( a pretty big feat when you live in Turkey). So when I finally couldn’t put off buying a pair of snow boots any longer, I turned to Sierra.
The husband mocked me and told me that IF my boots ever came he was sure I’d have to pay custom fees. But lo and behold, two short little weeks after I put in my order, a big ol’ box was waiting for me when I got home. I just couldn’t believe it! Sierra Trading Post, I certainly love you ( and no, I’m not getting paid to say these things. I was that impressed with their service.)
But enough about how they got here. Let’s discuss these babies, shall we? These are probably, without a doubt the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever set my feet in. They are waterproof, warm and just so darn cute. I’m in love with my Sorel boots and I don’t care who knows it! Merry Christmas to me. I have had to make a conscious effort to wear something else other than my boots since. I just don’t want to ever take them off. Being cold is not something I ever appreciate and these boots have certainly help improve my mood this winter.
Another sweet little gift I got the other day was this little beauty:
I don’t like to think of myself as a Vera Bradley girl, but I was just taken by the niftiness of the “All in One” wristlet. I saw a friend of mine carrying the “Carry-All” and thought,
that’s just what my lose-everything-but-my-head-self needs.
I’ve long been a fan of wristlets. Ever since I lost my wallet while running errands a few years back. I’m huge fan of the Coach wristlets, but this Vera one with its cell phone pouch, money bill fold and ID pocket just won my heart. Also, the bright pattern really makes it easy to spot it inside the black hole that is my purse.
Aren’t my new finds a thing of beauty? So what’s new in your closet, friends?

Well, I sorta got runover by the month of November, next thing I knew we are alrready two weeks in the month of December. So let’s make this a double feature! Friends, I present you what I’m into this month — November and December edition.
on my nightstand – I have been reading A Praying Life by Paul Miller. People, do yourselves a favor, buy this book tonight and go ready it. I hesitate to classify a book as life-changing because to me only the Bible truly has that power. But trust me, it is very close to life-changing.
in my bible – Going through Philippians this month. Now this is life-changing stuff!
on my tv – Did you catch the Sing-off? You case you didn’t notice I like to watch talent competitions… It’s addicting. If you missed the Sing-off and you like acapella music, do yourself a favor and watch it on hulu.com!
in my ears – Duh. Christmas music baby! I’m in love with Haley Reinhart and Casey Abram’s version of Baby it’s cold outside.
in my closet- Check out my style board on Pinterest, that’s what I’m into right now. Plus, I hope to soon (fingers crossed) get my hands on this baby and these babies! May the postal services of Turkey be ever in my favor.
on my iPad – nothing really for me, but if you have a toddler that loves to get his chubby sticky fingers all over your touchscreen, try this Elmo loves abc’s app. O’s love for all things Elmo make this app a must-have, plus its educational value is certainly a bonus.

I know I owe you all an explanation of where we moved to and probably some pictures of our new place. While I try to get around to doing that, take a look of what I’m into this month- October 2011.
on my nightstand – I haven’t read much of anything this month. Partly because of the move and new turkish classes starting, partly because I am on the hunt for a good read. Any suggestions?
in my bible – I am continuing my study on Galatians and loving it. John 15 has also been a lot on my mind lately.
on my tv – My annual Gilmore Girls marathon carries on. Plus, when the husband and I left America we had stopped watching House in the middle of season five. So a couple of weeks ago we decided to remedy that with a good ol’ marathon. On Fridays and Saturday nights, we put O to bed, I fix up a cup of coffee, he gets some desert, there’s no better way to spend the weekend! AND Fall tv is here, I can’t wait to catch up on my favorite shows.
in my ears – well, I found a ‘toddler’ station on Pandora. It’s quite catchy I must say, O loves to dance to it. Plus I must confess, Jessie J’s Price Tag is stubbornly stuck in my head.
in my closet- with fall in the air and cooler temperatures, I acquired a few new pieces I thought my fall wardrobe was lacking in. Inspired by the always inspiring j.crew catalogue, I purchased a couple of long sleeve sweaters, thin enough to be worn right now and perfectly ‘layer-able’ later on. I’ve also purchased these baggy black chords. They are so comfy I don’t ever want to take them off!
on my iPad – new tag this month, I’ll include here favorite new and old apps. Last month I discovered the Google Catalogues app and I’ve lost a lot of time on it. I just missed getting my favorite catalogues in the mail every month and now I get to have them back at my fingertips minus the clutter. There’s another one called Catalogues that also offers a variety of different catalogues to browse, including j.crew, if you’re as obsessed with the store as I am, you’ll love it.

On what I’m into this month – July 2011
on my nightstand – This month I got the chance to read a few books, but one reading I enjoyed was ‘The Millennials‘ by Thom Rainer, it was a simple little book that painted a portrait of my generation, the millennials. If you were born between 1980 and 1991, you might actually enjoy it.
in my Bible – I’ve started a study on the book of Galatians this week, and I’m loving it.
on my television – Did you guys watch the show ‘The Voice‘? I know it’s already over, but I’ve caught up with it on hulu and loving it. I’ve also started my now annual summer marathon of the Gilmore Girls. Always a classic.
in my kitchen – in celebration of the husband’s big thirty, I had to bust out PW’s cinnamon rolls. They’re a little involved, but always worth it.
in my ears – I’ve really been into old school Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5. I crank up the stereo and dance to it while I cook. My kid must think I’ve lost it.
in my closet – I acquired a few fun pieces while on vacation and some great new make up. But what I’m really into this month is this lovely silver ring the husband got me while away on a trip to the Black Sea last week. Isn’t it just so pretty? I just love me some simple beauty like this.
