Brazilian summer style, glimpses of home

 

 

It’s been seven years since I’ve left this magical place.

Yesterday I woke up to the sound of the ocean, the sun peeking through the blinds. I put on my favorite flip flops and walked down the street to the closet bakery. I walked in knowing exactly what to say, exactly what to order and it all just felt so normal. A homecoming is always so refreshing to the soul.

And summer in my hometown is just the perfect place to come back to.

This path led us to a little waterfall.

 

 

O fell right at home at the beach. He has quickly learned the words for beach, swimming pool and popsicle.

 

 

Funny fact about me: my younger sister and I are both teachers and we both married photographers. My brother-in-law snapped this one on the little boat we take on the way to one of my favorite seafood places. I just love how it captures the joy I have in being a mommy.
